It’s Day 2 of Red & Black Week 2014. Yesterday was so much fun – as this week is approaching each year, I’m so busy getting my own posts prepared that I almost forget how much I enjoy seeing everyone’s contributions until we actually get started.  Then I am in heaven reading your posts and enjoying your creativity.

Today, the weekend is over and it’s back to work. I was in a very rare Pants Mood, which is the perfect opportunity to pull out these red and black platform Mary Janes. I don’t like to wear these shoes to work with skirts, because they are so dramatic. I feel like pants tone them down just enough that I can get away with wandering the halls and not draw too much attention to myself.

  1. Oh miss kitty, you never disapoint us with your outfits..I like your blazer, it is very nicely structured and looks comfy..

  2. Lovely outfit! I especially admire how your shirt seems to be exactly the same red as the shoes. It looks like they were meant to be worn together! 🙂

  3. As today incorporates my lust list, I am now officially adding your beautiful shoes 🙂

  4. I do like the shoes! I agree trousers tone them down a bit; it’s great that you’ve built up enough respect to relax your dress code a little. 🙂

  5. I have a similar thing, except with skinny pants. Shoes I have no problem wearing with a skirt seem way too “out there” in skinny pants. I always feel like my feet look huge and that my shoes are too much the focus. I’ve solved the problem by avoiding skinny pants for the most part!

Those shoes are really lovely though. They go with that top really well!

  6. Ooooh, I love your jacket too! It shows up so nicely against your red top. Those shoes are wild!!!

  7. Aaaw, I wish I’d be daring enough to wear shoes like these, but I usually shy away from colors and stick to black or brown footwear…:/

  8. Lovely,I could never wear shoes like that,I don’t do well with heels,I can only wear flats or heels up to an inch or 2,anything higher and i’d break my neck ;3

  9. You look fabulous! I think the pants are perfect with the heels. The shoes add that little extra to your outfit. It seems like you show a little bit more of your goth style at work now, am I right?

  10. I’ve been lurking for a year or so and I’m happy that I’m finally able to participate in Red & Black week. You are always impeccably put together and gorgeous. Those shoes are awesome!

  11. I’m not sure if the mr.linky worked but I posted today. So excited red and black is back!

  12. The shoes look fabulous with your dress pants! I tend to only wear plain black shoes or boots to work because they go with everything. I love how you have so many different and interesting shoes in your work wardrobe.

  13. if there was a red+black week office edition, this would win the week.

    • Hmm… That’s an excellent idea for a sub-theme! 😉 Maybe next year, if I can make it friendly enough for those who don’t necessarily blog about fashion. (I would credit you, of course!)

  14. Wow, those are fabulous shoes! I love the patent red and black. Thanks for linking up to Shoe Shine!
