Theme for December 1: Maxi Skirts

The theme for December 1 is: MAXI SKIRTS

The weather has cooled down for those of us in the northern hemisphere, so it’s time to start adding on the layers. My favorite way to stay warm is with a super-long skirt! You can hide all kinds of tights, socks and leg warmers underneath and still look darkly elegant. Maxi skirts come in all types and weights of fabric, so those of you who are experiencing summer right now might go for something sheer or made from lace. For those of you who don’t do fashion posts, you could share inspirational photos, do a polyvore, etc.

Be sure to come back on December 1-3 and submit your post.

How It Works

On the first day of each month, I will post my theme post with the Mr. Linky sign-up form at the bottom. You can link to any post you’ve done that day or previously, as long as it matches the theme. Be sure to add the icon to your post, and link your post to mine using the Mr. Linky box at the bottom.

You can post your theme post earlier than the first of the month, or link to an old post, but you must add it to Mr. Linky on my first post of the month. I will leave the Linky open until 11:59 PM PST on December 3, so everyone has three full days to post.

You don’t have to participate every single month. Feel free to join in whenever you wish. Just be sure you get your post linked before the third day of the month!

You don’t have to do outfit posts. Post on whatever type of subject matter you like, as long as it is related to the theme.

Also, let’s keep the posts appropriate for all ages, in terms of both language and imagery. Thanks!! πŸ™‚

Posts that are linked up without including the icon will be removed from Mr. Linky.

HTML for the icon: (The icon and the HTML will remain the same each month)

Be sure to paste the code in while in HTML mode.

Please pass this invitation on to any bloggers you know who might be interested, and feel free to share the announcement on your blogs. Of course, it’s a good idea to follow my blog to be sure you don’t miss any of the themes. πŸ˜‰

Want to Suggest a Theme?

Leave a comment on any post at any time, or e-mail me. If I use your suggestion, I will credit you on my theme post for that month and in the theme announcement the week before. No promises that I will use every suggestion, because the themes have to be things that I would be able to do a post about.

Want to participate in the Monthly Theme?

Here’s how:

  1. Add the Monthly Theme icon to your blog post (copy the code below and paste into your post using the Edit HTML feature):
    <a href=""><img src="" border="0"></a>
  2. Paste the URL to your post using the Mister Linky box at the bottom of my December 1 post.
Please use a direct link to your relevant post, NOT a link to your blog’s home page.
  3. Visit all of the other participants who have entered, and show them you appreciate their theme posts!

  1. Nice theme! I have a couple of maxi skirts, I’ll try to pull out something πŸ™‚

  2. I dislike maxi skirts pretty much, I think they don’t suit me at all. Yet I promised myself to finally prepare something for this month’s theme no matter what theme it is… So now I have a challenge:D

    • Participation is voluntary, of course! πŸ™‚ I’d settle for anything mid-calf or longer, if that helps.

      • Noo, it’s going to be more fun to browse my wardrobe for something that will actually match my maxi skirt:) That’s what I like the most about your themes – they encourage to experiment with my clothes:)

    • You can always safty pin maxis so they mimic other styles. I buy them in differnent colours and materials for this reason, cause one skirts can be several. You just need safty pins of different sizes.

  3. ooo, long skirts are my favourite! I’m super-happy about this theme, and will sure participate! =)

  4. hmmm … I might a have a skirt or dress that I’ve never actually featured because it was too long for general day wear. *insert professorial grin* Indeed, there *might* be something I can feature.

  5. Yay, I do have some maxi skirts πŸ˜€

  6. Ah, that’s a good choice for the in-between season we have here in the southern hemisphere. Hoping to get back on the blogging bandwagon in December so this would be a good way to start. πŸ™‚

  7. I love maxi skirts! The only issue is that I really have one maxi skirt with a victoriana cut (not strictly Victorian, it’s got elastic in πŸ˜‰ ) that I dress up with different blouses or overskirts. I can’t wait to see the entries, though! πŸ™‚

  8. Yeah, I got nothin’ for this one – I don’t think I even saved any from when I was younger (hard to believe, I know!) But I’m excited to see what everybody else comes up with!! πŸ˜€
