VictorianKitty, Circa 2000

I thought for a change of pace I would delve into my photo archive and show you a club outfit from 12 years ago or so! This was a fun outfit, but I much prefer the more regal, sophisticated style I have now.

A lot less Victorian, but still all Kitty! πŸ™‚ And that Gallery Serpentine corset is still going strong, although I lace it a bit tighter these days.

  1. I love that outfit! It’s definitely something that I would wear. ^_^ It’s kind of a combination between deathrock and Victorian style.

  2. The outfit is very cool, with so many elements I could imagine myself wearing (and some that I actually do!). Is there something about it that you couldn’t think of wearing anymore?

    • I still like the outfit, but the PVC circle mini-skirt isn’t my thing anymore. Also the fishnets were cheap and my eye makes was eww – too much silver, and the black underneath is too heavy for me (although I like that look on others). I also would never wear my corset with an open back anymore; I think it’s much more classy (and comfortable) with a black liner of some kind underneath.

I still have the sequin bra, and definitely still like it, but now I’d wear it with a shrug to take some of the “I’m just wearing a bra” look out of it (more age-appropriate to me).

So really, my taste and style haven’t changed much except for more attention to the details and a bit more refinement. πŸ™‚

  3. Kitty, you are AWESOME!:) Beastly or sophisticated, no matter what you wear.:)

  4. Very different to what you wear now, but still awesome πŸ™‚

  5. You look gorgeous then and now. You have great legs πŸ™‚

  6. Wow, it’s crazy to think that 2000 was 12 years ago! In my mind it still seems like current time, yet it is sooooo not!
You look great and I like your heavy makeup and earrings. You are still “you”, you’ve just let your style grow with yourself.

  7. SO MUCH FUN! Thanks for sharing, I hope you bring out some more “old” photos along the way! I spy bad hotel room decor – we have too many photos filled with the stuff ourselves! ha ha!

Your arms and shoulders look great! I never had and prob never will have any tone like that!

I love your look then and now, refined classy kitty and wild and untamed kitty! ; )

    • Thanks! I plan to do more “old photo” posts but I’m going to have to start doing some scanning if I want to go too far back. Yes, these photos were taken in a hotel in San Diego. A cheap hotel, no less. ;-D

  8. That is a cute and fun outfit! Edgy and girly at the same time. I love the way you have refined your style while keeping those edgy and feminine elements.

  9. Is it rude to ask how old you are? Because I can’t figure it out from looking at either this or your current photos. You look younger in these photos but you still look young in your current ones.

You’re a great inspiration by the way. I’m 29 and have no plans on giving up my dark style any time soon so it’s great to see that there are others out there just like me. Although you’re so much classier than I am. πŸ˜‰

    • I don’t find that rude at all! I just turned 39. I’m extremely lucky to be blessed with young-looking genes, plus I take excellent care of my skin from the inside and outside (eating healthy, exercising, drinking lots of water, minimal alcohol use, avoiding the sun, exfoliating and moisturizing with quality products, and using good anti-wrinkle creams). I have some fine lines that don’t really show up in photos, but other than that I haven’t seen too many signs of aging yet. Sooner or later, my time will come. πŸ˜‰

Thank you so much for your kind words! Never let age be a reason to let go of your sense of self. I’m looking forward to checking out your blog!

  10. Your outfits were amazing even ten years ago πŸ˜€ my current style looks a lot like yours at the time (except I don’t like pvc). I love all of it: the choker, the lace gloves (<3 lace!), the pendant, the fishnet stockings… but your current style is great, too!
