It’s Thursday, Which is My Friday, but Feels Like a Monday

I woke up late today thanks to Perseus going through an extra-naughty spell (mostly at 4 AM).  I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in a week.  Fortunately I at least had an idea in my head of what I wanted to wear today…  But I hadn’t really ironed out the details (no pun intended – I rarely iron!).  I just received this top from eBay and was dying to wear it.  I figured since it was casual it would go best with a plain, straight skirt, but of course this morning I couldn’t find the skirt in question (turns out it was still hanging in the laundry room after last weekend’s washing!).  Then I realized that patent shoes were too fancy for such a casual outfit, so I had to change.  I ended up choosing my Dr. Marten’s Mary Janes, which I don’t really like with skirts but I still have not hemmed up any of my new pants (I really hate doing blind hems!!!).

By the time I finally had my body covered, there was no time for accessories, make-up OR photos if I was to get to work on time.  So of course, I added an accessory, did my make-up AND took photos before texting my boss to tell her I would be late today.  🙂  Priorities, right?  Well, yesterday was a totally crap day so I didn’t feel too bad about putting my blog before the client today.

Can you tell that I’m burnt out this week?  Apparently it causes me to use a lot of parenthetical statements…

The bright side is there is Persian food on the menu tonight (taking a break from our usual Sushi Thursday), if I can just make it through this Thursday-Friday-Monday.

What do you guys have planned for this weekend?  I need some good ideas for some fun!!

  9. Hmmm~ I don't know. My weekends consist of taking a break from the week and literally just that. I might go to the library, though.

  10. Love your priorities! This outfit screams FUN.

  11. Here's another vote for your priorities being exactly where they're supposed to be, haha! I'm no help on weekend fun because I work weekends and go out on weeknights.

  12. It's good to see you in casual. Not that you don't look good enough already, but in casual you look younger~ [does that sound strange?]Sebastian had a random bout a month ago with waking me up at 3AM for food. Why do they do our kitties do this to us? Don't they know we can love on them during regular waking hours as well? Here's to a good night's sleep.

  13. Joy, a hair compliment coming from you is definitely a good thing!! :)Hexotica, lol! Carrie, purple is the best, isn't it?!?uhooi, thanks for visiting my blog. Looking forward to checking yours out!Maeam, sounds like a very good philosophy. I need to spend more time just taking a break!BettyZade, it would have been more fun on a weekend. ;)alicatstrut, thanks for the support on my momentary lapse in responsibilities. 😀 Sometimes the best events happen on weeknights, too!Sir Isaak, as a woman who is totally and completely proud of her age, looking younger isn't a priority. While I do sometimes intentionally don a "younger look" for the sake of variety, the goal is never to "look younger" (if that makes any sense – lol!). Not that it's a bad thing, just something I'm neutral to. 🙂 And Sebastian is SUCH a cool name for a cat!! I love it. I hope he's on a better sleep schedule now!
